Life Events

The short version of my story: the family milestones, losses, and career turns that took me from the Dallas film industry, through two decades of software consulting and engineering, to co-founding Rock Mountain Media. I keep it here instead of on social media so that friends can catch up and people I might work with can see where I've come from.

2026

• October 02 - "Retired" from my role as a Software Engineer at CNH Industrial to focus on creative pursuits.

2025

• November 20 - Co-founded a new company, Rock Mountain Media, an indepedent production studio, focusing primarily on adapting William V. Taylor's best-selling Vietnam War memoir, "On Full Automatic" into a streaming series.

2021

• April 19 - Grandson, Graham Ellis Burleson
• March 08 - Moved into our new home in Manitou Springs and on the Southern Front Range of the Colorado Rockies.

2019

• July 01 - Left Base22 to start working as a Writer.
• June 02 - Granddaughter, Harlyn Faith Burleson born.

2018

• November - Purchased my 2017, "Oscar Mike" edition, two-door Jeep Wrangler.

2012

• Jan 06 - Mother-in-law, Lula Belle McKinney died at age 74.

2011

• Sister, Dawn Alaina Burleson died at age 41.

2007

• Left IBM to startup the company, Base22 (originally called Burleson Technology Group).

2004

• May 17 - Grandmother, Mary "Mom" Williams (Mary Elizabeth Muncy) died.

2003

• Oct 05 - Grandfather, Don Owen Baker, died.

2002

• Started working as a Senior Managing Consultant for IBM (my former company, PwC Consulting was acquired by IBM).

2001

• Oct 17 - Stepfather, William Charles Nobles died.

2000

• Started working as a Web User Experience Consultant in Portals and Content Management at PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (my former company, Studio Interactive was acquired by PwC).

1997

• Nov 29 - Daughter, Bailey Burleson born.
• Started working as Creative Director at Studio Interactive, in Dallas, TX.

1995

• Mar 25 - Son, Caden Burleson born.
• Jan 07 - Mother, Donna Nobles (Donna Carol Baker) died at age 46.

1994

• Nov 05 - Married Karlisa Ann McKenney.

1992

• Started working as a freelance Production Assistant (PA) in the Dallas film & video industry (after about 2 years as a PA, I transitioned to the Art Department and started a company called Scenic Wonders, doing Scenic Design and Set Decoration).

1989

• Met my real father, Alan Burleson, and lived with him for three months in Madiera Beach, Florida.
• Graduated from C.F. Brewer High School in White Settlement, Texas.
• 18 years old

1981

• Aunt Debbie (Debra Sue Baker) died.
