Hi, I’m Cody Burleson and this is my online notebook.
I’m always learning about software development and experimenting with various tools and techniques. I often record my discoveries and lessons-learned here. I do it mainly because I don’t trust my memory, but hopefully also to be helpful to others.
By night, I often practice writing. As a wanna-be writer, I’ve been studying the craft while chipping away on a couple of stories. One is about the 1st Battalion / Third Marines in the Vietnam War (my father was attached to Delta Company). The other is a post-apocalyptic fiction that takes place after a global pandemic (zombies not included). As part of my practice, and just for fun, I sometimes post creative writing pieces (e.g. free-writing, little memoirs, or writing-prompt exercises). Sometimes I post about the craft of writing, in general.
You can also find some notes about ZBrush here. ZBrush is digital sculpting software that’s used in the motion picture and gaming industries. I think it’s pretty much the most amazing software ever invented and I’m utterly fascinated by it. When I can find the time, I sometimes practice sculpting with ZBrush and post about what I learn. It’s just a weekend hobby – you know, for fun and relaxation.
I’m 47 years old. I’m happily married. I have two grown children and a dog.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you’re here.
