A collection of photographs from Ken Hicks (Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines) taken during his tour of duty in the Vietnam War.

2nd Platoon, Delta Company, 1st Bn 3rd Marines taking a CH-46 helicopter out for a 5 day patrol. The CH-46 helicopters were grounded a few months later when they began to break in half while in the air.

Phu Bai Airfield - MAG 36
Digging in just outside of MAG (Marine Air Group) 36, Phu Bai airfield south of Hue City off Highway 1. We had humped from the coast to Phu Bai.

Punji pit. Probably between Phu Bai and Hue City along the coast. The French called that area 'The Streets Without Joy'.
Camp Evans, 4th Marines rear off of Highway 1, north of Hue City and South of Quang Tri. This is well after Operation Beaver Cage; probably in June.
M-60 MG. Not sure where this is. The position is built up with lumber, with overhead, so it's not a hasty fighting hole.
